Gradient, glow and drop shadow
Give your captions a gradient fill, a glow, a drop shadow and wider letter spacing, and put a rounded card behind the whole caption or behind each line. Change the main or accent color once and it updates everywhere the template uses it.

Is Captixa free?
Yes. The Free plan includes every caption style for up to 5 videos a day, 2 minutes each, for personal use, with a Captixa.com watermark on exports. You can also set up and preview the Pro tools (jump cuts, voice cleanup, transparent export and batch); exporting with them needs Pro. Captixa Pro removes the limits and the watermark, and adds a commercial license.
Does it add a watermark?
Only on the Free plan: videos exported on Free carry a Captixa.com watermark. Captixa Pro exports have no watermark.
Does Captixa work on Mac?
Yes. Captixa runs on Windows 10/11 and macOS.
Do I need an API key?
Only for cloud transcription or translation. Local Whisper needs no key and works offline. Groq offers a free tier; OpenAI and Gemini bill you directly. Keys are stored on your computer only.
Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. Your video stays on your computer. With Groq or OpenAI, only the extracted audio is sent for transcription. With local Whisper, nothing leaves your machine.
Does it work offline?
Yes, with local Whisper: transcribing, styling, editing and exporting all work without internet. Translation and Roman-script conversion need a connection.
How accurate are the captions?
Captixa uses Whisper, one of the most widely used speech-to-text models, and times every word individually. You can fix any word, sentence or timing in the editor before you export.
Can I make Hinglish or Roman Urdu captions?
Yes. Transcribe in Hindi or Urdu, then switch the captions to Roman script. The timing of every word is kept.
What can I export?
An MP4 with the captions burned in, at the source resolution, 720p, 1080p, 2K or 4K. With Pro, the captions alone on a transparent background as ProRes 4444, WebM or a PNG sequence. And subtitle files: SRT, WebVTT, styled ASS or a plain-text transcript.
Can Captixa remove silences and filler words?
Yes, with Pro. The Audio tab finds every pause and every "um" and "uh", shows how much time they cost, and cuts them. Picture, sound and captions stay in sync. On the Free plan you can set the cuts up and preview them.
Can it clean up background noise?
Yes, with Pro. Enhance voice removes hiss, hum, fans and room noise with DeepFilterNet 3, an AI model that runs on your computer, and can set the loudness to -14 LUFS. You can hear it on the Free plan before you buy.
Can I caption an audio file or podcast?
Yes. MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG and Opus files open like videos. The captions are drawn on a plain 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9 frame in the colour you pick.
Can I caption many videos at once?
Yes, with Pro. The Batch wizard captions and exports a whole set of files with one set of settings, and saves each one as a project you can fine-tune.
Do I need a powerful computer?
No. Captixa runs on any 64-bit computer with 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended). An NVIDIA or Intel GPU on Windows makes export faster.
Can I use Captixa for client or commercial work?
Yes, with Captixa Pro. The Free plan is for personal use.
How many computers can I use my license on?
One at a time. To switch, deactivate the old computer from your dashboard and activate the new one. You can do this any time.
